Trippin' Out.

In creating Bandits, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to some pretty awesome places. I wanted to share just a few of these hot spots with you not only because of their awesomeness, but the fact that they are family accessible, affordable & really left us feeling rejuvenated. We are always looking for places to take the family & create some memories. Don't miss out on the few listed below!

Huntington Beach, CA

When visiting Huntington Beach I never imagined it would be so dreamy. With its golden coast, huge beaches, board walks, California feelin' food shacks, and views! It was truly a dream. Being from IL, I was in awe of seeing the ocean & mountains all in one glance. Not to mention, if you're into camping (RV) people pulled right up the boardwalks & had the best view in town. We did not camp but not going to lie, it sure looked fun.

Route 30A, FL

In my mind, this is Florida's best kept secret. 30A is a route that runs along the gulf coast on Florida's panhandle. It is filled with beautiful white, clean beaches, an emerald sea & many fun shops & stops along the way. Plus, it is close to other locations you may want to visit while in the area.

Best time to visit is the end of May or end of summer to early fall. This timing is ideal because it is not tourist season, and the weather is just perfect. The water is usually crystal clear & has bath water feels.

I would definitely recommend stopping by Seaside, FL. A quaint little town with brick lined streets & friendly everything. Seaside has a wide variety of shops, boutiques, food trucks, restaurants & a great center stage area surrounded by palms & soft grass to picnic or plan a night out while a band is in town.

Our all time favorite restaurant located not too far from 30A is Stewby's Seafood Shanty. Located in Fort Walton area. It is our diamond in the rough & offers the fresh catch of the day at an affordable cost. Bottom line, it is delicious. Other good eats are; LuLu's (great environment) and the Capriccio Cafe (has the BEST coffee drinks ever).

Silver Lake Sand Dunes, MI

I believe the sand dunes are like a long lost wonder of the world. It is crazy how you approach the dunes, it is like a scene from a movie as you're walking up a path in the middle of the woods & all of the sudden it turns into mountains of sand. It was unbelievable being in the dunes. Each dune seemed larger than the last & there were moments when all I could see was sand. Placed beautifully by Lake Michigan, the surrounding waters & sand is truly breathtaking.

My best food recommendation is the The Lake House in Muskegon, MI. This restaurant is settled right on the lake & has an extremely tasty menu.

We stayed at the Silver Lake Resort & Campground located in Mears, Michigan. It was our first time camping as a family & have to say it went alright. Really more than alright due to the cleanliness, all the campground's amenities & of course being so close to the dunes. The resort is great for all sorts of camping (RV & tent). It has thought out amenities, close bathrooms (hey, its important), sinks, showers, a great pool for all ages, ice cream shop, playground, basketball courts, horse amenities, trails, a pavilion for movie nights, larger campfire areas, and a small gift shop. Seriously nice place.

Like I said, these are just a few places we have been to. We are always looking for more, so feel free to recommend some to us as well!
